Performance Training: Group Session

Take it to the Limit

What is Performance Training:

Performance Training is a program that supports youth athletes in the areas of:

Physical Health

Nutrition

Mental Health

With a mixture of in-person workouts and virtual support, the goal of this program is to create a 1-on-1 coaching experience to support each of our students that join this program.

Overview of Program:

Youth athletes will participate in a 40-minute workout with a VP instructor once a week. In these 40-minute sessions, the instructor will focus on areas that the youth athlete needs support in, such as:

Body Strength

Psychomotricity (jumping, running, etc. )

Coordination (balance, rhythm, combining two movements, etc.)

SAQ (Speed, Agility, and Quickness)

Recovery

Injury Prevention

This program is a supplement to the youth athlete's other physical activities (school sports, club sports, etc.) By offering the training once a week, the instructor can keep the groups small and work closely with all of the youth athletes in the program. In addition, during these in-person sessions, youth athletes will be wearing Fitbits, so that the youth athlete can have a better understanding of their workout progress by mapping out the following areas:

Steps

Miles

Heart Rate

In addition to the weekly workout, the VP instructor will be developing Athlete profiles for each youth athlete in the program. The VP instructor will be able to work with each of the youth athletes, providing additional support throughout the week (sharing with them resources and tools to support their physical health, nutrition, and mental health). Throughout the week, the VP instructor will be using these Athlete profiles to connect with the youth athlete and make sure they are on track with their goals.
